The 3M swab sampler is a ready-to-use environmental microbial sample collection device pre-hydrated with proprietary 3M™ Wide Spectrum Neutralizer.
The 3M Environmental Scrub Sampler Stick is a sampling device that combines an innovative design and high-tech materials. The multilayered non-woven composite material is intended for pickup, release, and absorbency while maintaining integrity when sampling difficult areas. Scrub dot technology is used in the 3M Environmental Scrub Sampler Stick to destroy biofilm and improve sample collection.
The 3M Environmental Scrub Sampler Stick is hydrated with the 3MTM Wide Spectrum Neutralizer, which provides effective neutralisation capability for a wide range of sanitisers used in the food and beverage industries, including quats, high acid cleaners, chlorine-based, hydrogen peroxide, and peroxyacetic acid-based sanitisers. 3M Wide Spectrum Neutralizer was developed using food-grade ingredients and is free of known allergens, animal-derived materials (ADM), polymerase chain reaction (PCR) inhibitors, and components produced from genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
The 3M Wide Spectrum Neutralizer is also designed to be compatible with 3M™ Petrifilm™ Plates and the 3M™ Molecular Detection System, with a sample hold period of up to 96 hours at refrigerated temperatures. The 3M™ Environmental Scrub Sampler Stick contains a metal adjuvant for metal detection*.
The ergonomic stick fits diverse grip types, has a thumb-stop to encourage aseptic sample procedure and a simple 1-step twist detachment mechanism. The AOAC® Performance Tested MethodsSM Certificate (#022104) was awarded to the 3M™ Environmental Scrub Sampler Stick with 10 mL Wide Spectrum Neutralizer as the first and only sample collecting device and neutralizing solution. The 3M swab sampler, 3M™ Environmental Scrub Sampler with 10 mL Wide Spectrum Neutralizer, is packaged in a 6″ x 11″ 3M™ Sample Bag with a 30 oz/0.89 L capacity to transport the equipment safely and conveniently to the lab. When blending or transporting, the sample bag is double laminated for strength, puncture resistance, and longevity.
Wire ties keep the bag closed, and a blue lid and large white write-on area help identify it. Gamma irradiation is used to disinfect the sample bag and sampling apparatus. The sample stick was designed to detect metals. All metal detecting equipment and process conditions are subject to change, which can lead to varied sensitivity. 3M suggests testing the stick in your product, process, and environment to ensure suitability and compatibility with the metal detecting equipment in use.
